2026 Hengqin-Macao MICE Talent Exchange Highlights AI and Talent Transformation

      On May 22, 2026, the 2026 Hengqin-Macao MICE Talent Exchange — “AI and Talent Transformation Development Salon” was held at the Xichuang Center, T3-3F, Hong Kong-Macao Smart City Deep Cooperation Science and Innovation Building. The event attracted around 100 representatives from the MICE, cultural tourism, technology, education and talent service sectors.

      Focusing on the development of MICE talent in the AI era, the event featured opening remarks, keynote sharing, a signing ceremony and a roundtable discussion. Topics included the application of AI in event management, innovation in digitalized talent development, and international talent cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

      Several academic and industry representatives were invited to share their insights, including Dr. Zhang Rongxian, President of the Macao Internet Research Association; Professor Dai Guangquan from the Department of Tourism Management at South China University of Technology; and Huang Ernuo, General Manager of the Talent Development Center of Hengqin Talent Group Co., Ltd.

      During the roundtable discussion, moderated by Professor Luo Qiuju from the School of Tourism Management of Sun Yat-sen University, guests including Li Yan, Co-founder of CAS International Group; Yin Yanying, Chairperson of Xiading Technology Co., Ltd.; and Tse Siu Wang, Deputy General Manager of Macao Expo Group Limited, discussed the topic “What kind of talent is needed in the AI era: generalists or specialists?”

      Participants agreed that enterprises today require more composite talent with cross-disciplinary thinking, continuous learning ability, practical experience and collaborative skills. At the same time, talent requirements vary according to different stages of business development, job functions and industry scenarios. The event further strengthened talent exchange and cooperation between Hengqin and Macao, injecting new momentum into MICE industry upgrading and regional collaborative development.
